If we sign up, what results can we expect and by when?
The results are directly related to the efforts we can put in together. From the day we sign the agreement, we follow a structured path (Reach Implementation sequence document). To estimate results and impact, the Reach pre-audit report can give an idea. Results can start showing from month one in some cases and others from month 2. To predict the exact number of room nights is difficult as it depends on the product and pricing as well as seasons, but we work closely with the hotel team to work on certain targets. It is critical that we are able to work closely and collaborate with the hotel effectively to have optimal results. Speed of response from the hotel is also important.
Do you offer marketing services like e-mail marketing?
Our core focus and expertise is online distribution ie capturing the captive demand that OTA’s have generated through their marketing efforts for the hotels. Hence we do not offer the services above. Occasionally, we are able to make exceptions for certain niche hotels. Please check with us if this is of interest.
How can you help bring up hotel rankings on OTAs?
There are number of things which need to happen once hotels are present on our recommended OTA’s. We start by identifying the hotel’s true competitive set and complete a pricing review. This is critical as pricing needs to be competitive in relation to other relevant competitor hotels in your location. We make recommendations based on this to maximise online sales.
Once pricing actions are in place, we do a Property Assessment Report (PAR) to understand gaps in the hotels online presence. After reviewing this with hotel, we work on actions to correct these gaps.
Then we work closely with the OTA’s to identify all possible offers and promotional opportunities on an ongoing basis. We will also advise the hotel on other ways to improve their presence as well
Rankings in our opinion are less relevant in general and widely misunderstood. For example, hotels love to be number one in rankings, but what is not often realised is that results vary based on location, user, appliance, browser etc. For example, when a user searches in London for a specific hotel in India on a certain OTA, the ranking results on OTA’s of that search canl be different from a user based in India searching for the same hotel on the same OTA.
Do you work with multiple hotels in the same destination?
Yes, except if they are competitor hotels within a 3 kilometre radius and they happen to be within the same price and category.
Do you help with rate & inventory updates in CRS?
We can certainly help the hotel set it up and also assist with changes. However, the best practice is for the hotel team to update the rates and inventory in one place which is the Central reservation System (CRS). We train the hotel team on this process which is easy and efficient. Once it is entered into the CRS, this goes through the standard process and gets updated on all channels through us. This will ensure that the hotel has full control over the rates and inventory at any point of time.
What is the difference between REACH Booking Engine & others?
Most Booking Engines perform fairly standard functions and are generally comparable. However, a key advantage of our Booking Engine is the low number of clicks for bookers to make a reservation compared to other booking engines. This means that our Booking Engine provides a user friendly interface leading to more conversion of online bookings through the hotel’s own website – the most cost-effective channel for reservations
Can we work on a model where we pay on results?
We have a great offer currently where you pay a very small yearly fee and pay only on results. We offer a complete guarantee in terms of our service.
Price is high for our small hotel & others offer it cheaper. So why REACH?
It is important to understand what the competitors are giving for their price. The strength of REACH is in its business and revenue generation focus and expertise. It is not a pure technology product. Almost all competitors in the market offer only a pure technology product – how to make it work for your business is left to you. We help you make the most of the technology and drive business. And for this extremely strong value addition ie our commitment to revenue generation all year round, we charge a nominal extra over the standard offerings in the market.
If we have a PMS, can we integrate REACH?
Our CRS can integrate with different PMS’s. Currently it is available with selected PMS’s. It can be customised depending on requirements.
We receive most bookings from Offline Agencies. So why online?
Focusing on one or two channels as a business source can be a risky strategy. Diversifying channels is critical to maintain high occupancy and rates. When there are times the traditional travel agencies are weak, the hotels will be able to supplement with online channels. It should be considered as an additional channel to increase the overall occupancy.
We already work with many OTA’s successfully. So why an incentive to you?
This is something that can be reviewed and agreed on a case to case basis. Existing relationships can be retained and we may be able to just focus on new channels. In addition, the world of online distribution changes all the time and we are in a great position to advise you on the best strategies.
Can you send us regular weekly or monthly reservations report?
We send our clients a series of reports including reservations reports on a monthly basis. Samples of these reports are available on request.
Can you maintain the inventories completely and update the sold out dates?
We can do this for you as part of our services. However, we recommend the best practice of updating this directly in the CRS.
Can you do some marketing to promote our hotel to increase revenue?
We work closely with the OTAs to identify marketing opportunities to increase exposure and maximise sales. Every month, our team will send hotels an opportunity report and make recommendations on actions to take.
